Job DescriptionSummaryOverall end toend finance responsibility for various finance processes and controls. Assisting and supporting role providinganalysis and reports to the Director of Finance & Administration as well asthe Aries Management Team, including preparation of month end consolidatedcommentaries, forecast materials, business modelling, ad hoc analysis, businessperformance metrics monitoring as well as developing leading businessindicators. Providing support to otherElsevier Business Controllers for their relevant reporting areas andresponsibilities, support and assist with month-end closing, ad-hoc queries andissues. Responsible to monitor theaccuracy of the invoicing process which include: reviewing contracts andmaintaining contractual financial obligation of customers, deriving statisticsand invoicing detail, inclusive of validation of invoices raised by accountingspecialist. ResponsibilitiesManagementreporting:Providehigh level of support in preparation of BU monthly management financial reportsand presentations: collect data, add commentaries/insights.Whererequested be responsible for periodic financial reporting like monthly revenuereporting, renewals progress reporting, pipeline reporting, dashboardreporting, print reporting etc. Providewide range of analysis and support for other key stakeholders and resolvefinance inquires independently and raise issues timely.Respondto ad-hoc requests for analysis and insights into financial information.Planning,budgeting and forecasting:Assistwith the planning of Budget & RF1/2/3.Reviewand provide insights and initial commentary on variance analysis onactual/budget/forecast.Business SupportProvideanalysis and guidance on product and business unit profitability.Workwith business and other cross-functional teams (operations, sales, etc)regarding actual to budget variance analysis. Supportthe Aries Management team in development and validation of business models andstrategic pricing structuresFulfillmentMonitoraccuracy of the invoicing process including: maintaining database of customers,contact information and financial obligations. Utilizeinternal systems to derive invoicing statistics and invoicing detail. Prepareinvoices for customers accurately and timely. Createand maintain invoicing controls. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related area.Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an accounting and/or financial analyst role required.Strong analytical skills, a self-starter with "can do" mentality; quick learner in a complex and demanding environment.Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial and management accounting, process and systems.Must be precise and demonstrate strong attention to detail.Affinity with large and complex international working environment.Commercial and organizational awareness, ideally in a comparable industry.Must be an advanced level Excel user, and comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products, and Hyperion and Oracle.
