WATTS Business Development Manager (Utility Companies/ Municipalities) in North Andover, Massachusetts

Watts Water Technologies is looking for a motivated Business Development Manager. The successful candidate must be comfortable working off of assigned prospecting lists as well as creating target lists and prospecting new customers by networking, cold calling, or other means of generating interest from potential customers. This includes exploring customer needs, and communicating the unique value provided by the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Meet, or exceed, annual sales targets

  • Create sales plans and key account plans

  • Educate Customers, Engineers, Contractors, and Service Partners on product and application.

  • Communicate company messaging Customers, Engineers, Contractors, and Service Partners

  • Recommend Service Partner and / or distributor changes and execute/ support changes as required

  • Provide customer VOC to change or enhance Watts products and / or service

  • Identify projects and their potential

  • Regular communication with product management to ensure alignment of messaging

  • Evaluate product trend sales analysis by Product, Region, Customer, and Contractor

  • Maintain effective and consistent customer communications including email, phone and personal visits.

  • Travel to customer locations and perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company solutions while on-site.

  • Maintain / Manage customer requests, issues, and/or complaints including any Quality issues through internal coordination and documentation.

  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth with new and existing customers

  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.

  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of customer processes, changes in market conditions, competitor activities, and other potential business opportunities.

EDUCATION: BS Degree preferred in Technical Field but will consider candidates with Associates degree with strong work experience.

MANAGEMENT:

May be required to manage multiple direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of direct work experience in the Plumbing industry, ideally with a direct work experience in an external technical B-B sales capacity.

  • Five or more years of technical sales experience with mechanical systems, preferably with contractors, installers, professional engineers, and Utility/ Municipal markets

  • Demonstrated ability in technical sales

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent listening skills, time management and organization skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power point. Able to quickly learn company specific software.

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

  • Strong design and field engineering acumen

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product managers, and designers to solve complex and interesting problems

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Work in office or home office environment

  • May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.

  • Travel 60%
