State of Massachusetts Industrial Instructor II-Auto Body Shop in Norfolk, Massachusetts

Duties: The selected candidate will have to successfully pass a psychological and drug screen and must attend a four (4) week Recruit Academy. Auto Body repair for the Department of Correction vehicles.* Responsible for records, schedules of all work performed, and parts purchased. Maintain tool control in compliance with Department of Correction policy. Supervise inmates in the performance of auto body repair/maintenance. Order and receive automotive parts. Proper use of hazardous materials to include disposal of used hazardous waste. Perform other related duties as assigned. *Preferred Qualifications: A current Commonwealth of Massachusetts Driver’s License. Minimum 2 years of automotive body repair experience. Knowledge of towing. Capable of maintaining accurate records and schedules. Tool control, Key control, disposal of hazardous materials. Must read and write English correctly and communicate clearly. Ability to diagnose and repair motor vehicles. Maintain mechanical capability and cleanliness of Transportation Security Vehicles. Must have a good driving record.The selected candidate will have to successfully pass a psychological and drug screen and must attend a four (4) week Recruit Academy. Comments: This is a Civil Service position. Candidate must take and pass the next Civil Service Examination for this title and score must be reached in order to be considered for a permanent appointment. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in industrial arts work, the major duties of which involved training or instructing, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in industrial arts may be substituted for the required experience.* Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
