Roberts Joseph Staffing Welder in New Bedford, Massachusetts

Position Description: This position entailed a full-fledged manufacturer on the cutting edge of energy efficient space and water heating technology. We construct a wide assortment of heating products and system components. Specific Duties: Possess/demonstrates an understanding of welding equipment & accessories. Manually TIG weld dissimilar metals i.e., cupronickel to stainless and stainless to stainless. Demonstrate the ability to maintain welding quality and characteristics. Ability to use basic fixtures and hand tools accurately and efficiently. Must be experienced/demonstrate ability to produce quality welds using TIG and MIG processes. Must be able to identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality. Able to operate required machinery in the department. Desire to always perform at the highest level of competence and expedience. Conscientious of product quality and productivity to promote the growth of the company. Responsibilities: Responsible for good quality welding practices. Inspects completed product to ensure it meets all quality standards and specifications. Communicates with fellow workers and superiors to maintain safety and quality. Suggest production and quality improvement ideas to the Supervisor. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order. Responsible for housekeeping in assigned work areas. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures by wearing all safety personal protective equipment PPE to always maintain a safe work environment. Must be able to read blueprints. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner as determined by departmental goals. Will function as a part of a Team approach to accomplish departmental goals and standards. This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed. Technical Expertise: A thorough understanding/demonstration of proper welding practices and procedures. Must be able to identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality. Ability to set up computerized machines. Ability to operate various types of bending and flaring and shaping equipment. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma Ability to operate bending and welding, and punching equipment. Required experience/ education: Ability to work flexible work scheduled as required. Ability to communicate and interact effectively in all situations. Minimum of 1 year welding experience of similar and bimetals. Note: All qualified candidates will be required to perform a welding test.
