Ahead LLC Purchasing & Inventory Clerk in NEW BEDFORD, Massachusetts

Ahead, LLC is looking for an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Control (PIC) Clerk. We are a full-service headwear, apparel, and accessory business. If you are a detail-oriented individual, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you!

We currently have a Full-Time position; 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm.

The Purchasing and Inventory Control (PIC) Clerk is an integral part of the Ahead organization, specifically a member of the Purchasing Department which provides timely and accurate purchasing and inventory data to those who are dependent on the information. The PIC Clerk’s primary responsibility is in the area of purchase order processing, inventory receiving, daily communication with vendors, and to provide support to Headwear, Apparel, and Accessories Product Managers. This position is also responsible for representing the Company in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers, vendors, Sales Representatives, and fellow employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inventory related purchase order processing.

  • Data processing of inventory receiving.

  • Daily communication with suppliers pertaining to goods on order, shipping information, quality issues, quantity discrepancies and other related information.

  • Support Product Managers with clerical functions through accurate data entry.

  • Daily review of event list to keep on top of on-time delivery.

  • Provide accurate and up to date ATS information to other departments within the organization.

  • Addressing and resolving out of stock order issues due to inventory inaccuracy and vendor delays and rejects.

  • Cross-train in all product categories to provide support when needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus 2 years relevant data entry experience.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be extremely detailed oriented.

  • Strong aptitude for working with figures.

  • Must demonstrate speed and accuracy with data entry.

  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management and co-workers.

  • Ability to professionally interact with existing and potential customers and vendors.

  • Proficient in MS Office software, especially Excel.

  • Knowledge of other relevant computer software and systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must possess initiative, energy and drive.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
