Spherion Staffing Electronic Technician in New Bedford, Massachusetts

POSITION SUMMARY: The Electronic Technician will modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic components, or products. The (ET) will be calibrating electronic components following schematics and diagrams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspects and calibrates electronics as directed through verbal or written directions work instruction, diagrams, drawings, or specifications. Troubleshooting and determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs. Communicates with operators, engineers, and inspectors to understand problems and provide progress updates. Performs safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions. Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue. Develops and maintains records related to electronic components and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to follow highly complex directions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate degree in Electronics required. Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification or licensure required. This job description is subject to change at any time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
