Job Summary: The Domestic Traffic Coordinator performs administrative duties in support of activities related to shipments of finished products. Maintains open communication with the organization?s departments and coordinates with transportation vendors on a regular basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Learn the Domestic Traffic daily functions. Running pick tickets throughout each day and printing all orders to be shipped the following week. Maintains Shipping records, including providing tracking of shipments. Prepares shipping paperwork as well as completes shipping transactions in appropriate systems. Reaching out to carriers and negotiating rates on prepaid shipments to ensure that we are getting the best possible freight rates. Review and audit freight bills for accuracy. Respond to billing questions from external freight companies. Monitor and channel communication between the different departments in our organization pertaining to each shipment. Multitasking to accurately manage the multiple requests that are filtered through the traffic dept daily. Make sure that projects are organized and are moving along seamlessly through the work process from start to completion. Communicate to Management, Administration, and Sales on shipments. Back up for the International Traffic Manager with all imports/exports process, ensuring compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations. Assist and support to the inventory control manager and department on all aspects of inventory control daily functions. Perform special assignments and other related duties (spreadsheets, etc) as requested and for coverage. Learn and understand international traffic coordinator responsibilities to provide coverage Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors. Basic understanding of logistics procedures. Proficient keyboarding skills. Extremely organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Traffic coordinators must be highly organized, outgoing, and amiable and work well with different personalities. Candidates should be excellent project managers and able to quickly solve complex problems. Strong math, computer, verbal and written communications skills. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with computerized inventory systems required. At least two years of clerical experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
