CNC Operator

Location: New Bedford, MA

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

General Overview:

Our client is seeking a CNC Operator to perform a variety of duties in the operation of manual and computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as vertical machining centers and turning centers. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, utilizing advanced machining tools in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up manual and CNC machines based on drawings or verbal/written instructions.

• Read and interpret complex drawings to ensure specifications are met.

• Preset tools using a tool measuring machine.

• Monitor machining operations and take corrective actions as required.

• Operate a variety of machining equipment within the department.

• Utilize precision measurement tools, including Drop Gauges, Height Gauges, Thread Gauges, Micrometers, and Vernier Calipers.

• Identify and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual circumstances to the supervisor.

• Maintain established quality standards by adhering to quality procedures.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports as needed.

• Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, safe, and orderly. Follow all prescribed safety measures, company policies, and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in operating CNC and manual machining equipment.

• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

• Skilled in using precision measurement tools.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in machining processes.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail and meet quality standards.

• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a machining environment.

What We Offer:

• Salary Minimum: $19.25/hour

• Salary Maximum: $22.14/hour
