International Data Group Research Director, Data Models in Needham, Massachusetts

IDC's Worldwide Data and Analytics Organization is seeking a Research Director to join its team. Our clients depend on IDC's precious data to inform their strategic plans and make critical business decisions. As their quantitative needs and requirements continue to evolve in complexity and detail, so too do the methodologies and approaches with which we create their data.

In this role, the research director will be responsible for several high-profile deliverables and serve as a main point of contact. Therefore, the individual will need strong client facing skills and a keen business sense to identify and package products in a way that meets clients' needs.

  • Responsible for a number of complex, quantitative projects

  • Able to develop and present quantitative research and analysis

  • Ensure the research is developed and delivered on time and with the highest quality

  • Capable to work with forecast models, survey results, firmographic, and third-party data

  • Expert in crafting segmentation models, and managing inter-dependent research processes

  • Experience in navigating cross-functional teams, managing multiple stakeholders

  • Develop and grow a team over time

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus

  • 10 years of quantitative market research experience

  • Exceptional analytical and data modeling skills

  • Strong collaboration, project management, and presentation skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to deliver the analysis and insight in a clear and compelling manner

  • Creative problem-solving skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Occasional travel once business travel resumes (<10%)

  • This role can be in our Needham, MA headquarters or in an approved remote U.S. location
