What you’ll do:
Manage, direct, and develop the internal project team to oversee multiple farm projects with consistent, clear, and high quality on all project management activities.
Responsible for collaboration on site selection, contract negotiation, obtaining management approval, securing entitlements, and overseeing construction.
Works with the Business Development team providing upfront due diligence, estimating, layouts, construction, and maintenance expertise.
Manage due diligence, entitlement activity, permits, escrow closing, including meeting with government officials and public hearings. Coordinate with architects, engineers, attorneys and other consultants. Work closely with the internal management team to design projects.
Working knowledge of broker networks, market valuations for real property and leasehold investments.
Ensure compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations.
Works with financial models to qualify projects for lease.
Negotiates leases with landlords.
Management of multiple projects overseeing each project scope of work, schedules, budgets, and resources to deliver results to Crop One and Customer standards.
Create, organize, review, and submit all project deliverables ensuring adherence to Crop One and industry quality standards.
Develop a deep understanding of all critical elements of the farm construction projects and be able to anticipate issues, develop recovery strategies, and keep projects on track with regard to scope, schedule, and budget.
Constantly monitor progress of all active projects anticipating and addressing potential risks, pursuing risk mitigation strategies, and communicating to all stakeholders the project dependencies.
Collaborate and maintain tight integration with internal and external stakeholders; including but not limited to the plant science, business development, engineering, finance, software teams to ensure delivery of project specific deliverables.
Establish and improve internal operational policies and procedures to facilitate world class performance through all project phases.
Establish effective project communication plans using Project Management software, Gantt charts, and schedules and ensure their execution to create company-wide alignment.
Conducting post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Must be on-site to oversee projects, anticipate 25-50% travel required.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Real Estate, Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering
5-8+ years of experience as owners or customer representative on large industrial or commercial real estate construction projects with direct management of project teams.
Excellent business judgment
Excellent analytical and organization skills with strong attention to detail
Experience with construction management processes, means and methods
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Keen ability to handle multiple projects and assignments
Urgency, initiative and ability to analyze and react to complex issues with excellent problem-solving skills
Good working knowledge of energy systems including energy generation and efficiency.
AutoCAD, Project management, MS office software experience required
