Waters Production Machininst I - Conventional Department (1st Shift) in Milford, Massachusetts
Individual is required to operate a variety of machining equipment, and perform manual secondary work such as cleaning, deburring, installing helicoils, bushings & pins, etc. Able to operate CNC equipment a plus and must be able to read blueprints. Inspection of own and other associate’s parts. Excellent communication skills are paramount as working with other employees is a required function.
First shift position, Monday thru Friday from 06:30AM-03:00PM.
Set-up and operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to: Dunkees press, Bridgeport with ProTrak controls, Hardinge manual lathe, cutoff saw, buffing wheels, speed lathes, belt sanders, etc.
Install items such as, bushings, helicoils and pins into a variety of medical device components.
Package critical medical components to be sent to outside vendors for secondary processes and customers.
Assist in maintaining and operating a product specific cell which includes the operation of a CNC lathe (Mori Seiki SL), with a UR Cobot and an automated pin insertion machine.
Operate a Zeiss DuraMax CMM.
Inspect completed material utilizing visual and hand inspection equipment, i.e. Vernier calipers, micrometer, microscopes and drop dial indicators.
Read, understand and follow written processes and blueprints.
Interact in a manufacturing environment with a variety of personnel on a daily basis.
Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
Maintain their work area in a clean orderly condition and follows safety procedures.
Utilize basic Lean and 5S practices.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational trades school preferred.
0-5 years in a machining environment
Must be able to read blueprints
Ability to stand for at least 8 hours/day
Lift material up to 40 lbs
Ability to bend at the waist / pick up something from the floor
Hand dexterity - squeezing, twisting, tightening
Basic algebra / arithmetic
Excellent communication skills and trouble shooting skills
