Waters Principal Verification Engineer in Milford, Massachusetts

The Principal Verification Engineer represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced scientist in the Systems Design and Development department to lead technical aspects of new product system evaluation.

This is a highly visible technical leadership position in which the individual is required to have expertise in LC and/or LCMS applications and Separation Science. The candidate will work closely with Waters R&D organizations, especially engineering, development teams and Scientific Operations.

  • Lead technical team in the creation and execution of new product verification plans and testing

  • Plan and develop strategies to test new hardware designs using chromatographic based approaches

  • Coordinate with engineering department to test new designs and provide feedback based upon performance based testing

  • Drive new product and sustaining verification work completion to support corporate product roadmap

  • Participate in the review of key design input documents such as product requirements

  • Communicate plans and status to senior management inside and outside the organization

  • Seek opportunities to collaborate and expand the role of Systems Design and Development department across various functions

  • Provide cross functional scientific leadership including, but not limited to, direct collaboration with product management, project management, engineering, development groups, scientific operations, and CXKM

  • Assemble, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chromatographic systems

  • Mentoring junior staff members in regard to analytical techniques, data processing and interpretation

  • Manage group vSphere infrastructure and templates and provide vSphere support to the staff

  • PhD with 5-7 or M.Sc. with 10 + years of experience in analytical chemistry, engineering or related scientific field

  • Strong understanding of LC, LC-MS and other analytical chemistry measurement techniques

  • Strong skills in LC and/or LC/MS method development and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of programing languages/data analysis packages such as Python, C++, VBA, javascript, Matlab, solid works (desired)

  • Experience with statistical data analysis strongly desired

  • Previous experience with Waters instrumentation and chromatographic data systems desired

  • Must have strong communications skills

  • Track record of working in and leading technical teams
