Waters Principal Software Engineer in Milford, Massachusetts
Waters is currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Global Products Organization. In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced, agile environment with a team of diverse engineers that possess a true passion for technology. You will be tasked with helping to design and implement new, innovative, and high-profile enterprise class processes and services to help drive our Smart Connected Products initiative.

Primary responsibilities include participating in the overall design, development, configuration, and deployment of our Smart Connect Products in a Cloud based IoT eco-system.
Designing a scalable cloud infrastructure; with an intense focus on resiliency, flexibility, performance, and scalability.
Responsible for implementing best practices and governance for an evolving cloud-based infrastructure.
Perform hands-on activities for creating cloud infrastructure components, migrating from, or integrating with on-premises services, with an intense focus on automated infrastructure and self-service tools.
Research and implement best practices derived from industry experiences and standards.
Collaborate in a cross-functional environment with software architects, system engineers, software engineers, across multiple business units to define, document, and disseminate the cloud-based architecture.
Responsible for supporting documentation, training, and mentoring as it relates to their core knowledge of the infrastructure and the interface between software and physical devices.
Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
10+ years’ experience working as a software engineer with a focus on designing complex large-scale enterprise applications.
5+ years’ general experience working with IT infrastructure and knowledge of virtualization, storage, and networking.
Solid experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Solid understanding of Cloud based offerings (SaaS, IaaS, IoT)
Experience with Infrastructure and Application Performance Monitoring.
Experience with containers and orchestration
Cloud Certifications: AWS, Azure, Google
Hands-on experience with AWS IoT cloud platform technologies for commercialized smart connected products
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Big Data technologies
Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems, and/or driver/kernel development.
Experience with Waters Enterprise Applications (Empower, NuGenesis, UNIFI)
Experience with Automated test methodologies and frameworks
Experience working in an agile/scrum environment and supporting practices (CI/CD)
Experience working within the Atlassian Toolset
