Waters Principal Product Marketing Manager for Cell and Gene Therapy Consumables in Milford, Massachusetts

We are looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about building analytical testing products that customers love and that the world needs in order to develop curative gene therapies and breakthrough cancer treatments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining market opportunities and steering new product development within a cell and gene therapy focused consumables group, with a particular focus on creating, commercializing and supporting disruptive size exclusion and ion exchange column technologies as well as viral vector sample preparation approaches.

In this dynamic role, the candidate will help the world’s booming biotechnology industry by bringing to bear new characterization assays for the analysis of AAVs, lentivirus, lipid nanoparticles, plasmids and mRNA. The ability to empathize and design solutions for unmet analytical needs will be critical. The candidate should be comfortable guiding technical discussions surrounding biomolecule workflows as well as contributing to strategic and marketing topics. The candidate will manage the entire lifecycle of their products, be responsible for gathering customer requirements, define their vision with development teams and oversee product strategy, pricing, and positioning. This Principal Product Marketing Manager position is a highly visible, global role and a successful candidate will be encouraged to be out in front of the world’s leading scientific discussions and help our organizations align to serving the cell and gene therapy industry.

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

  • Work closely with development teams to create detailed requirements and prototypes which deliver a quick time-to-market with optimal resources

  • Liaise on beta testing of next generation technologies

  • Generate business cases that support the innovation of new products

  • Execute the roadmap, launching new products into the market

  • Develop and write value propositions to support on-market campaigns

  • Be the subject matter expert and source of competitive intelligence for your products

  • Represent the company by visiting customers and attending conferences to present technical information and solicit feedback on our products

  • Minimum BS in a scientific field. Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, or PhD, preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a scientific field, including time spent as a product manager, strategic marketing leader, commercial role or in science-based business development work

  • Understanding of the analytical chromatography market and direct exposure to viral vector or nucleic acid separations

  • Experience with developing 'Go-to- Market' product strategies

  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
