We have maintained a solid performance throughout the challenges of the pandemic and continued to grow. Training has been a critical part of our company’s success, and over the next several years, significant investment is being made in the expansion of our learning and development functions, which will have a significant positive impact on every employee. The L & D Manager in this role will establish our approach and supporting systems to enable company-wide, departmental and individual learning throughout an employee’s career with us. This Manager will help employees build digital, interpersonal and management skills that encourage continuous learning and growth. Work with senior leadership team to build a continuous learning culture that attracts new talent, improves the onboarding experience, helps employees get better each year and supports our strategic plans.
Support the embodiment of Milton CAT’s key competencies and values by developing roadmaps to measure and establish critical traits within the workforce such as Customer Focus, Teamwork, Data Driven Methodologies, Technology-Enabled Approach and Continuous Improvement
Oversee, design and develop relevant learning experiences that combine on-the-job and formal learning elements.
Manage and execute diverse training programs, including external vendor-supplied training, partnering with existing technical trainers, conducting internal training, and identifying train-the-trainer opportunities
Establish metrics for assessing training effectiveness, provide reporting as needed, identify gaps and make recommendations to address as appropriate.
Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
Review existing Learning Management Systems and make recommendations for future improvements.
Minimum 5-8 years of progressive Learning & Development experience, ideally supporting corporate-wide training initiatives in a multi-location, dynamic environment
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or third-party certification in recognized interpersonal training methods preferred.
Experience in adult learning. Prior experience establishing or revitalizing training/learning within an organization strongly desired.
Experience with instructional design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience developing learning plans that connect training with job architecture to support succession planning/career development.
