Waters Milford Operation Engineering is leading the search for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer that will support Manufacturing Operations based in Milford. This position will play a critical role in the introduction of new products via Waters’ instrument development process, as a member of cross functional multidisciplinary team.
Advanced Manufacturing Engineer has these primary responsibilities.
Steward for Design for Manufacturability and general DFx (assembly, test, service, cost, etc) on new product development teams.
Reviewer of part drawings and prints, supporting tolerance analysis and GD&T standards.
Creation and support of assembly processes, bills of material, routings, labor standards, procedures, and PFMEA's for mixed model scientific instruments in the new product introduction (NPI) pipeline.
Drive continuous improvement and optimization of the manufacturing processes to improve first pass yields, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Support product transfers from Alpha and Beta production into volume manufacturing through process stabilization and optimization
Evaluate and disposition rejected material, including electromechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies across the value stream, performing root cause and risk analysis when necessary.
Work with cross functional teams on continuous improvement initiates, automation activities, new product introduction, and the resolution of manufacturing issues.
Identify design changes to resolve problems, improve manufacturability, and remove cost on released product.
Offer high level technical support for global production sites and international contract manufactures.
Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Physics
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge
Statistics: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
Lean Manufacturing: Value stream Mapping, Cell design, Mistake Proofing, Flow
Project management skills inclusive of project planning, risk assessment and mitigation, resource Strong results demonstrated in PDCA or DMAIC cycles and execution of the the scientific method.
Experience with ISO 9K and 13485, QSR (21 CFR Part 820), and GMP for medical device manufacturing
Experienced user of SAP or Oracle
Solidworks 3D CAD experience
