Overview

Manage all facets of Shaw-Ross’ business in New England region. Duties include but are not limited to: pricing evaluation, recommendations and builds; supporting and implementing programs developed by Shaw-Ross’ marketing department, achieving depletion and shipment goals, educating distributor sales teams, managing personal and team member T&E budgets

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage distributors in the New England region; functions include but are not limited to: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve brand goals and profitability, negotiate to-trade brand pricing based on each brand’s corporate standard, create and implement executive and sales team incentives; create and implement brand programming, review depletions, shipments, accounts sold and monthly goals. Collaborate with distributor executive management and sales personnel in the field to determine the brand’s health and their opportunity in the market.

  • Initiate, develop, and implement brand pricing for areas of responsibility.

  • Assist division manager with pricing and budgets in the division.

  • Strict adherence to brand budgets with quarterly review, and future forecasting of budget dollars.

  • Communicate, motivate, and educate distributor management and sales representatives to present and successfully sell Shaw-Ross products on a daily basis.

  • Create relationships with and nurture key retail accounts, regional chains, and on-premise accounts in the New England region. In addition, sell in new items and program current items in the retail trade. Create, develop and schedule off and on-premise brand promotions.

  • Weekly review of brand inventory in each market.

  • Quarterly review of brand spoils and damaged packaging in each market.

  • Prepare monthly reports (depletions and shipments, promotional calendars, industry overview, etc.) for VP East review.

  • Prepare and deliver distributor reviews on a quarterly basis for key sales and trade development leadership outlining brand depletions, accounts sold, percents of increase, gaps to goals and brand budgets. Prepare annual review with same parameters to be delivered to senior leadership of both local distributors and Shaw Ross senior leadership.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must reside in the Massachusetts

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Three years of demonstrated management experience

  • Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs limited direction or supervision

  • Advance computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Products-Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook

  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills

  • 6+ years of industry related experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of multiple wine and spirit brands to include regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production, and service.

  • Strong and established relationships in New England Region

  • Lift / carry a 45+ pound case of product.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and current insurance

  • Must carry auto insurance, $100,000/$300,000 in vehicle liability and $50,000 in property damage and be listed

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to the rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
