Synchrony VP, Prism Product Manager in MARLBOROUGH, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Prism Product Manager role is responsible for the successful implementation of new and innovative products, capabilities, and features of Synchrony’s Credit Acquisition system (SynApps). This role will lead cross functional alignment across business owners, product owners, technical resources, and other PRISM pillars to develop a program roadmap, define and deliver solutions that drive growth and optimize the credit acquisition processes. The ideal candidate will be a passionate problem solver with robust Credit process knowledge supported by strong project management and technical expertise.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the successful delivery of new products, capabilities, and features across Credit Acquisitions platforms.

  • Support the development product lifecycle by refining functional requirements, contributing to product solution and design, and facilitate successful implementation across teams.

  • Articulate the program vision, roadmap and business value to the SynApps community.

  • Set expectations and demonstrate flexibility while managing a diverse set of stakeholders. Manage priority and input from Credit Acquisition, Fraud, and IT teams while working with other Agile teams within the Synchrony Scaled Agile Train to support cross-team changes.

  • Develop and coach Credit Acquisitions Product Owners by leading SynApps Agile teams, and work to continually improve the SynApps system and change processes.

  • Lead PI Planning sessions to prioritize Credit Acquisitions capabilities, commitment to work, and set stretch goals. Communicate commitment changes, status, and timelines to senior leadership on a scheduled basis.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. Prism Pillar leads, client teams, technology teams) on impacts and dependencies. Ensure teams are on-schedule for committed changes, resolve or escalate roadblocks to stakeholders and Senior Leadership

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in consumer/commercial credit management, lending, marketing or appropriate field in a credit card / consumer credit decisioning environment. or; in lieu of a bachelors' degree, 15+ years of relevant experience in consumer or commercial risk management, lending, marketing or appropriate field in a credit card / consumer lending environment

  • 3+ years’ experience and strong technical abilities and understanding of the originations platforms: Genasys, Surveyor, Edison, and/or SynApps.

  • 2+ years and strong experience with Experian Rule Engine Software tools: Strategy Design Studio, PowerCurve

  • 2+ years Agile Product Owner or similar experience

  • 2+ years Project Management experience

  • 1+ year experience in Agile and SAFE scaled agile methodology

  • 1+ year SAS/SQL programming experience; 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) or comparable software

  • Demonstrated project management experience with extreme attention to detail, report accuracy, data integrity, and team focus

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience operating at a strategic level as part of a cross functional team

  • Deep expertise in credit process

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products and practices

  • Master’s Degree or MBA with advanced analytic focus, or equivalent advanced degree

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
