Oracle Senior UX Researcher in Marlborough, Massachusetts
Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.
As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of software engineering or related experience needed.

A bit about the team
The Oracle Brand Experience Design Team is a team of designers, program managers, innovators, researchers and content strategists that have come together to take design to the next level. We are reimagining the UX of the brand and website (Oracle.com) for over 300 enterprise cloud applications in the field of Human Resources, Finances, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, Commerce, Health Care, Education, Government, and so much more. Identify opportunities in design and marketing lifecycle processes to embed user research and data-driven approaches
Act in a consultative and advisory role to various levels within the design and marketing teams to identify research topics and plan studies for both generative and evaluative purposes
Plan design and lead research projects end to end and facilitate the experience for our team
Conduct research using a wide range of qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods
Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways, tailoring findings to suit the audience
Drive leadership buy-in and support by regularly meeting, presenting findings, connecting to business outcomes and quantifying business value
At least 3-5 years of professional experience, with proven success working with product teams and UX designers on software interfaces
BS degree in Social Sciences, HCI, Cognitive Psychology or similar areas (Master’s degree a plus) OR equivalent work experience
Deep practical experience with various research methods
Multi-task across in-house projects and studies and working with outside vendors where required to conduct research
Advanced ability to articulate and visualize both qualitative and quantitative results
A proven track record of successful partnership with UX and marketing teams
