Oxford Immunotec, Inc. Senior Product Manager, Automation in Marlborough, Massachusetts

This position is a key member of the US Commercial team and will be responsible for building, activating and executing the US product launch and on-going go-to-market marketing plan for Oxford Immunotec’s (OI) high throughput T-SPOT.TB platform, T-Cell Select, currently CE marked and available outside of the US; OI is targeting an FDA submission in 2020, with a projected launch in 2021. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success marketing capital equipment to laboratories, building product launch plans and adapting marketing plans to rapidly changing market and competitor dynamics.

Specific deliverables for the role include, but not limited to:

  • Build US marketing plan to launch T-Cell Select in hospital and commercial laboratories

  • Identify customer needs, market requirements and competitive analysis

  • Display technical depth to learn, understand and communicate the capabilities and limitations of T-Cell Select

  • Build and execute the launch plan for T-Cell Select

  • Execute ongoing go-to-market marketing plan for the high throughput product line to drive significant revenue growth and take competitive market share

  • Lead the development and execution of digital marketing strategies, highlighting products at trade shows and conferences, and executing an outbound marketing presence to deliver on OI sales and revenue goals

  • Responsible for developing multi-channel content for sales and support collateral for products in the portfolio, as well as content for web, media, etc.

  • Monitor market intelligence and trends to refine robust marketing plans for the OI high throughput product portfolio

  • Collaborate with OI strategic marketing and technical services to align current and future marketing programs

  • Align market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and prospects

  • Serve as the company’s product expert and “voice of the customer” for OI high throughput products

  • Distill customer requests into actionable and appropriate solutions

  • Resource to internal and external customers

  • Address and recommend solutions for commercial and implementation needs

  • Manage the introduction and marketing of new automation products to the US

  • Assess post-launch successes and weaknesses and make recommendations to Senior Leadership on how to drive growth

  • Lead development and execution of targeted marketing messaging and positioning for multiple customer segments

  • Collaborate with marketing communications and technical services to develop and deliver customer facing materials to enable sales

  • Work with the Commercial Leadership team and cross functional partners to formulate business plans and drive execution

  • Proactive identification and resolution of potential product or market issues

  • Lead sales training content development and delivery for OI high throughput products and solutions

  • Create internal and external training tools

  • Deliver automation training to field sales,

  • Develop content and for live and on-demand webinars

  • BS/BA in Life Sciences, Business or Marketing required. MBA preferred

  • 7-10 years of product management experience in of laboratory automation, capital equipment or relevant industry

  • At least 1-2 years focused on developing, managing or positioning of products into the laboratory market.

  • Direct people management experience is highly desired

  • Customer-facing experience with hospital or commercial laboratories is highly preferred

  • Follows all company safety policies & other safety precautions within work area

  • Ability to travel 20 – 30% of the time (mainly domestic; some international)
