This position is responsible for supporting the Global Supply Chain function with creating and aligning global processes & procedures and metrics for warehousing, freight, & customs, in addition to reporting out on progress & results in executive-level discussions.
Essential Job Functions
Warehousing Processes & Reporting
Own monitoring and verification of costing (rates, volumes) for global 3PL’s monthly
Own space and volume forecasting for global 3PL’s, including creation of models for forecasting based on S&OP demand and safety stock
Work with Regional leads to review costing and develop action plans to reduce cost within the warehouse through storage / pick & pack processes; own a cost reduction target
Establish standardized metrics and reporting packages for each 3PL warehouse aligned with regional leads
Establish and lead Quarterly Business Review with key warehousing and freight partners, ensuring that content is standardized across regions
Freight Processes & Reporting
Own monitoring and verification of price, mix, volume for global transport carriers FedEx, DHL, etc.
Partner with Operations Finance to create and present monthly reporting pack on freight reviews
Work with Regional leads to evaluate carrier performance, setting up and monitoring standardized metrics across the teams
Physical Inventory & Inventory Control
Own global physical inventory & cycle counting programs including creation of process documentation, reporting, and ensuring harmonization across regions
Report out on global count results and work with regional leads to optimize control processes
Manage dates & timelines to ensure that counts are started/completed on-time
IT & Oracle Global Process Ownership
Single POC for Global IT enhancements/improvements related to system processes – you would coordinate with regional teams to ensure that enhancements are completed on-time and in excellent quality.
- Ensure that User Assignments and Sub-inventory locations for logistics and inventory are created and maintained by regional leads appropriately
Ad-Hoc Strategic Projects
Support Regional Supply Chain leads and Head of Global Supply Chain to cost out and create implementation plans for strategic projects
Examples include – insource/outsourced logistics evaluations, bidding new 3PL provider, changing mode/carrier on transport, customs & duties evaluations with customs solutions providers
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related disciplines required.
7+ years logistics experience with 3+ years direct 3PL management experience
5+ years working in an ERP system, preferably Oracle or SAP, and preferably experience driving enhancements or improvements
2+ years’ experience in Medical Devices or Healthcare preferred
Proven ability working in a global team / multicultural environment
Strong analytical skills – proven use of Microsoft Excel required
Proven ability to create and present executive-level reports and presentations
Proven process improvement leadership within scope of warehousing, transportation, and customs
Solid operations finance and P&L understanding
Result oriented with strong problem solving, organization and planning skills
Excellent communications skills in English, both verbal and written
