The Battery Thermal Program Manager is a critical position to the success of Aspen’s battery thermal program. The role will work to ensure flawless execution of existing thermal battery customer contracts and secure new battery thermal customer programs. The position will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Finance, and Commercial Operations to successfully and profitably grow Aspen’s business. The role requires a versatile individual capable of comfortably operating in project leadership, financial, quality, technical, and customer facing business development environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans, for the battery thermal segment, to achieve corporate revenue growth and margin objectives.

  • Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and direct the work of others assigned to the program from various functional departments.

  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to plan and flawlessly execute programs, which exceed both customer and internal expectations including design, quality, and cost and timing requirements.

  • Plan, lead & conduct timely team meetings and program status reviews including gate reviews with management. Direct the activities of functional team members assigned to the program.

  • Identify and resolve project issues using systemic root cause analysis. Escalate issues when necessary to gain needed support.

  • Develop and lead management of program metrics and scorecards to insure aspen is exceeding customer expectations, delivering on contract requirements, and meeting financial targets for the program(s).

  • Monitor Aspen’s performance in key areas affecting overall customer satisfaction. Provide timely alerts to the Aspen team regarding areas of concern.

  • Responsible to maintain active and effective networking relationships within battery and BEV OEM organizations to identify business growth opportunities.

  • Monitor competitor products and sales activities to provide input into Aspen’s competitive intelligence business process. Drive organization to offer products that are superior to competition.

  • While not the technical expert, must be able to understand and convey technical concepts related to Aspen’s products as related to the EV battery space

  • Support new business development activities (customer requirements analysis, resource estimations, project timing)

  • Develop on-time, accurate, and complete quote packages with assistance from support teams within Aspen.

  • Meet with key clients and other sales staff while maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  • Represent the Company with the highest level of professionalism to customers, suppliers, and investors.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates superior organization, prioritization, and cross-functional leadership skills

  • Project and/or program management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a team as well as individually

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel, Project,Powerpoint, Word

  • Ability to read technical drawings for understanding and to understand technical application requirements

  • High level of understanding of AIAG core tools, in particular APQP and PPAP

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong business and process analytical competency

  • Superior negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Risk mitigation and change management expertise

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and financial skills.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly as a presenter, and in written form

  • 4 years or greater experience in automotive tier 1 program management, or project management experience.

  • Automotive industry OEM facing experience

  • Experience leading new business development efforts.

  • BS in science or engineering (preferred) or BS/A in marketing
