Sunovion Director Commercial Insights & Analysis in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Commercial Analytics Business Partner (Director) to join our Commercial team in Marlborough, MA

The Commercial Analytics Business Partner (CABP) is a "hands on" partner to all insights (not just a coordinator), and acts as a strategic thought-partner who identifies key business issues / trends / shifting dynamics in the market and helps develop / test hypotheses on how to capitalize on the evolution of these critical contingencies. Collaborates closely with other CABPs and the Commercial Analytics & Data Innovation (CADI) teams to translate disparate data into meaningful findings for the Commercial Organization. Reports into Sr. Director, Commercial Analytics Business Partner.


  • Serves as the subject matter expert with regards to the marketplace and product dynamics for the WW Commercialization and New Product Planning organizations

  • Understands, translates, and interprets analtyics and business intelligence into insights used to develop strategic plans & executional plans

  • Informs and educates on optimal approaches and considerations, asks and challenges the current thinking

  • Synthesizes complex and diverse information, recognizes trends and/or interrelationships around patients, markets, stakeholders, partners, competitors and brands

  • Provides recommendations based upon future-oriented insights and opportunities

  • Efficiently and effectively partners with the function related CABPs and other CADI teams to procure the required analytics, data and operational services, when needed

  • Ensures strategy and execution is built on a 360-degree analytics approach, is externally focused, and data driven

Essential Functions:

  • Work directly with the WW Commercialization and New Product Planning teams as the CADI strategic advisor / internal consultant by partnering on the creation, execution of pre-launch strategies, tactics, and new product planning initiatives.

  • Proactively identify, frame and prioritize key business issues / market trends for launch planning and new product planning. Ensures the development and execution of pre-launch CADI activities and responsibilities.

  • Communicates findings from business intelligence and data analysis to relevant stakeholders across the organization, informing downstream and upstream.

  • Support business needs in a timely and efficient manner demonstrating a sense of urgency, tenacity, and commitment to quality and excellence.

  • Ensures that corporate standards of excellence and compliance are upheld and performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations and Company policies and procedures. Immediately reports noted/observed violations to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards at all times in order to main Sunovion’s excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelors' Degree required; Master's Degree preferred / 10+ years

  • Ten plus (10+) years in the Pharmaceutical Industry, with 5+ years in marketing or consulting-type activities

  • 5+ years in analytics and reporting data required, specifically in pre-launch and new product planning related CADI activities (primary market research, secondary data performance & reporting, payer/market access analytics, forecasting)

  • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy while balancing multiple priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to collaborate effectively in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the Commercial Organization

  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional matrixed environment and seek diverse perspectives

  • Strong professional presence, effective communication, presentation, influence, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability in partnering skills and influencing without authority
