Based in our Marlborough, MA headquarters, this Assistant Vice President Director, Human Resources Business Partner (AVPD, HRBP) will report to the Vice President, Human Resources Director and will support all global Human Resources related activities for our Information Technology (IT) organization. The AVPD, HRBP will provide thought leadership, strategic counsel, advisory and consultative services to business leaders. They will collaborate with and leverage Centers of Expertise (COE) and the HR Operations Support Center for business solutions. Responsibilities also include strategic management of talent development, culture and the maintenance of a healthy and productive work environment within functions.


  • Partner with IT leaders and leadership teams to identify and implement strategic talent solutions in support of an evolving technology organization; ensure the overall organization and culture are designed around strategic talent growth

  • Drive and ensure talent development, succession planning, and a culture of inclusion within assigned functions and within the Human Resources team.

  • Play a lead role in developing and ensuring global application of strategies, programs, processes, and systems.

  • Guide the acquisition, staffing, development and retention of TJX associates. Collaborate in the creation/management of compensation, and benefits programs.

  • Build and implement employee engagement/listening strategy; adapt talent strategies in response.

  • Provide high level coaching and counsel to leaders.

  • Model and build leadership capability at the team and individual level.

  • Attracts, retains and develops talent by creating an environment that provides direction, continuous learning and development, and commitment to a common vision and shared values.

  • Provides accurate, timely developmental feedback to all team members

  • Develops successors and talent pools for key positions


  • The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years related Human Resources experience, which will include leadership role(s) and expertise with strategy and program development

  • Ideal candidate must be a high potential leader with the ability to advance in the near term to VP with longer term potential to Senior Vice President and member of the HR Senior Leadership Team

  • Track record of solving complex organizational talent related challenges

  • Experience with change management and leading organizational change

  • Demonstrated agility in learning and adapting strategies to market realities

  • Strong experience with job design, workforce planning, strategic staffing and recruitment, performance management, talent development, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement

  • Proven track record of full life cycle project management and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, specifically in Agile/ Kanban

  • Superior coaching, team building and leadership skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, MBA preferred

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate complex business information in a clear and compelling way

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal partners in a constantly evolving environment
