Mechanical Engineering Lead
job summary:
Mechanical Engineering Leader for immediate consideration for direct employment in the South Shore Boston, MA area. The right candidate will have expertise in mechanical engineering within the medical device industry and proven leadership skills. This person's efforts will span research, product development, new product introduction and mechanical engineering activities necessary to bring a new product to the market. The Group Leader of Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for all aspects of project management including design controls, schedules, budgeting and reporting as well as day to engineering activities. responsibilities:
Responsible for leading cross-functional teams in medical device engineering efforts that include product development, engineering troubleshooting, design control and manufacturing.
Confer with management, engineering, and production staff to determine engineering feasibility, develop detailed project plans, and initiate development activities.
Provide leadership and foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and performance in a well-managed, structured product development atmosphere.
Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of complex designs, product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Ensure that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives.
Mentor the professional development of departmental personnel.
Participate in interdepartmental project discussion to ensure process shortcomings are identified and appropriately addressed.
Manage a variety of engineering resources across multiple engineering disciplines to identify, resource and drive continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficiency levels
Prepare and review capital and expense forecasts related to various project needs.
Participate in the mechanical design and development of various medical devices.
Participate and lead in the team interface with the client.
Generate design solid models, drawings and specifications as required.

Experience level: Experienced

Education: Bachelors (required)
