Eastern Bank Wealth Management Technology and Operations Director in Lynn, Massachusetts

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE :

The Director of Wealth Management Technology and Operations is responsible for strategically leading and overseeing the technology infrastructure, operational processes, and regulatory compliance within the wealth management division of a mid-size bank. The primary objective is to ensure the efficient and secure delivery of wealth management services, enhance client experiences, mitigate operational risks, and drive the department's overall growth and profitability.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the wealth management technology and operations department, aligning with the overall goals and objectives of the bank.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that technology and operational initiatives support the growth and profitability of the wealth management business.

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of technology systems and platforms supporting wealth management services, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations for technology investments to improve operational efficiency and client experience.

  • Establish and maintain effective operational processes and procedures to optimize workflow and ensure a seamless client experience.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate operational risks.

  • Ensure that all wealth management technology and operational activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Implement and oversee risk management practices to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks associated with technology systems and operational processes.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of technology and operations professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the department, promoting cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING :

Individual must operate independently, making strategic decision that impact core capabilities of the Bank. Must be able to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must be highly analytical on an organization wide scale – the ability to understand multiple sides of a problem and generate consensus to move the organization forward. Significant technology, process and people decision making authority.

REQUIREMENTS :

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of training and experience with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Significant experience leading technical and operational teams.

  • Extensive project management experience

  • Previous experience is a similar role is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of the profit and expense drivers in a wealth management organization

  • Must be analytical, well organized and detail oriented.

  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills required.

  • Must possess strong managerial and change management skills

  • Ability to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand is critical

  • Exemplary customer service skills
