TAD PGS, Inc. Mechanical Test Facilities Engineer in Lynn, Massachusetts
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Mechanical Test Facilities Engineerto join a leading engineering Company located in theLynn, MAsurrounding area.
The Mechanical Test Facility Engineer will own the development of test cells needed to test and certify the next generation of commercial and military aircraft engines. Key work packages will include design, fabrication, integration, and project leadership of test-enabling and facilities components that will support development and production engine test objectives.
Execute mechanical design and analysis and coordinate sourcing and fabrication efforts of unique critical test facility components and/or large industrial equipment needed to test turbo-shaft or turbo-fan/turbo-jet gas turbine aircraft engines.
Collaborate with Systems & Design Engineering, Maintenance personnel, and Test operators on technical requirements and design solutions for test facility systems.
Present design solutions, mechanical analyses in design reviews to technical leadership and/or coordinate reviews between technical leadership and supporting outside engineering vendors.
Provide on-site technical support to internal and external trades personnel during installation and commissioning of test facilities equipment as well as the support of engine test on behalf of facilities engineering.
Document technical data generated from the design efforts associated with facilities equipment development in the form of drawings, record books, installation instructions, and presentations.
Lead and provide input to initiatives to minimize the risk of failure tests.
Ensure that designs meet compliance with internal engineering design and quality policies and procedures.
Serve as project manager for design and engineering work packages responsible for quoting efforts as well as budget and schedule monitoring and reporting.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience).
At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position.
Demonstrated familiarity with Unigraphics NX software.
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Proven analytical and organizational ability.
