General Electric Lead Facility Management Specialist in Lynn, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The Lead Facility Management Specialist will install, maintain, and repair internal factory equipment and supervise employees who perform maintenance and tool making. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that manufacturing premises are fully operational, maintained, and clean. This is manufacturing specific and does not include gardeners, caterers, etc.

  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in facility maintenance or EHS)

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in facility management/maintenance or EHS

Desired Characteristics

  • Facility management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of LEAN principals

  • Possess leadership capabilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
