General Electric Lead Engineer – Compressor Structures Engineer in Lynn, Massachusetts
Job Description Summary
The Lead Engineer - T901 Structures Design Engineer will own structures hardware in the compressor module and demonstrate leadership in progressing the T901 engine structural design. The T901 program is in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (E&MD) program phase – an exciting time filled with 20+ engine tests over the next two years and the transition of hardware from development into initial production. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, apply engineering concepts to design and manufacturing issues, develop and execute team objectives, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address specific team initiatives and design challenges
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
Q u a li f i c atio n s/ R e qu i r e m e n ts:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering role
D es i r ed Ch a r a c t er i st i c s:
Familiarity with design, test, and analysis tools and systems
Demonstrates basic domain expertise in technical knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
