General Electric Facilities Quality Leader in Lynn, Massachusetts

Role Summary:

The Facilities Quality Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In the Facilities Quality Leader role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within a functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Facilities Quality Leader, you will:

  • Review all project specification prior to initial design kick-off

  • As a key contributor in the vendor selection process, review all vendor selection documentation prior to the Purchase Order execution

  • Implement the weld quality requirements of the ASME Boilers and Pressure Vessel Code – Section IX and the AWS Welding Code

  • Participate in design reviews

  • Review construction, fabrication and/or installation drawings for accuracy, tolerances, and compliance to applicable codes and standards

  • Interpret and apply ANSI 2.4 – Weld Symbols and ANSI Y 14 – Dimension and Tolerance standards

  • Document and ensure technical data generated is consistent with LPS Facilities Engineering policies and procedures

  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including schedules, financial results, deliverables, coordination of allinternal and external resources, establishing priorities, communication and reporting

  • Observe the execution on construction to assure adherence to approved drawings and specifications

  • Assure project deliverables are received and approved prior to final release

  • Assure that final “as-built” drawings are provided prior to final release Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality)

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in QC Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of GTAW, SMAW and/or GMAW semi-automatic weld processes

  • Knowledge of construction / fabricating and NDE test processes

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
