About the Role

The New Mobility team is building a suite of new products and services to solve complex challenges associated with moving people and goods at scale. We are utilizing Magna’s technology building blocks and capabilities into new markets and use cases. So far we have advanced solutions in micromobility markets (eg Yulu, Yuma, Cartken, among others) and have other projects and target markets still in development around industrial material handling, commercial and autonomous vehicles.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management and Sales in the development of our Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) product line. This strategic role requires a strong technical background in AMR technology, combined with exceptional program management and communication skills. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to ensure the timely execution of product development and deployment within a matrix organization. This role will be based in our Lowell, MA office. #LI-hybrid

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineering leaders to define and execute the overall technical program strategy for the AMR product line.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed program plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure successful program execution.

  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional collaboration among engineering teams, product management, sales, and other stakeholders to drive program success.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels to provide continuous updates on program status, risks, and mitigation plans to key stakeholders.

  • Identify and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies, taking proactive measures to address them and ensure program objectives are met.

  • Work closely with Product Managers to gather functional requirements and contribute to the product roadmap, feature prioritization, and managing strategic program trade-offs.

  • Identify and escalate resource allocation, utilization, and coordination concerns.

  • Drive and enforce program management methodologies and best practices to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance program outcomes.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the program team, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and cross-functional learning.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to program team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum 10 years of Robotics/ Industrial Automation experience, prefer 5 years being in the Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), with experience in technical program management and/or engineering development

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, product development processes, and technical project management methodologies.

  • A technical understanding of hardware, autonomy, and software systems.

  • Experience managing cross-functional robotic programs and release schedules.

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design.

  • Proven track record of successfully deploying large-scale robotics solutions to market.

  • Strong experience in developing and managing program timelines across engineering disciplines in a matrix organization.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on driving collaboration, fostering teamwork, and motivating cross-functional engineering development teams.
