Microchip Technology Engineer I-Product in Lowell, Massachusetts


Responsible for new Modules, pallets and MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) products through mask/wafer fabrication, assembly test and release of modules, pallets and packaged MMICs. Responsible for verifying the compliance of new designs, documenting the specific details of process requirements for each new product, monitoring the first Engineering wafers in Fab, and finalizing DC/RF test programs to screen out bad devices. Work with circuit designers to characterize the RF performance of these new circuits and assist in debugging both DC and RF circuit problems. Responsible for package IC assembly in engineering phases and for assembly and test of these new packaged devices including documentation. Design new applications circuit and protoboards to be used in the evaluation of discrete FETs (Field Effect Transistors), RFICs, MMICs, packaged MMIC’s and MMIC modules. Complete characterization of new MMIC’s or packaged IC’s, help with datasheet preparation. Responsible for yield enhancement of RF and microwave semiconductor products. Utilize failure analysis and circuit design verifications skills to troubleshoot product returns.

Key duties include:

  • Product Sheet creation for MMIC fabrication

  • Wafer/Circuit DC/RF Probing

  • Evaluation Board/Circuit Creation

  • Product Test, Align, Characterization, Documentation and planning

  • Perform product development and Qualification planning

  • Datasheet data generation

  • Yield analysis and Yield Improvement

  • Perform Design FMEA reports

  • Failure analysis

  • Develop validation plans

  • Prepare FAI and qualification reports

  • Prepare NSCARS

  • Complete product setup

  • Perform CA/PA & containment

  • Understand Product identification

  • Handle production wafers and parts


Education: BSEE

Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in Microwave/High Frequency Analog Electronics industry with knowledge of GaAs Components, their design and evaluation.

Skills: Strong interpersonal communications and practical skills are required. Must be able to work under pressure.
