As a Kyndryl Applications, Data & AI Sales Specialist, you will focus closely on engaging with clients and helping them move quickly and efficiently to better leverage their data to achieve their innovation, modernization and transformation objectives. You will provide a strong business perspective in helping clients securely mine ever more meaningful value from structured and unstructured data locked in heterogeneous enterprise systems and operating environments, public repositories, and real-time data generated at the edge of the network. You will demonstrate to clients that, by leveraging intelligent automation and predictive analytics powered by responsible artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, they will be able to delight customers, employees, and other stakeholders in new and unexpected ways.

You’ll spend most of your time working with a variety of clients to present the latest big data and cloud technologies and practices to design, build and maintain scalable and robust solutions that unify, enrich, analyze and respond to data from multiple sources.

In many cases, you will partner with 3rd party solution providers and application developers to extend the value of such solutions with useful and compelling data visualizations, intelligent automation techniques leveraging AI and Machine Learning, and will identify opportunities to add additional value to clients, as well as opportunities to further enhance the Kyndryl Applications, Data and AI solution portfolio.

You will be accountable for assisting customers in procuring and deploying Kyndryl solutions and services by applying broad and up to date technical expertise and business acumen in an enterprise solution sales environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading product and solution briefings for clients and prospects at all levels of the organization

  • Regularly demonstrating Data & AI services and features in face to face and virtual settings

  • Gathering detailed client requirements and proposing effective Data & AI-centric technical solutions that leverage existing data platforms and suggest the need for new or additional platform elements to support the needs of the business

  • Develop initial technical solution strategy based upon Kyndryl and/or partner services/capabilities

  • Collect, validate and vet with customer the deal-specific technical, functional, and nonfunctional requirements

  • Develop non-binding indicative estimate (NBIE) solution proposals to include cost cases, draft deployment timelines, technical/operational dependencies, draft solution architectures

  • Oversee with colleagues the process of finalizing solution specifications including solution architectures, staffing, delivery readiness reviews, and committed cost cases for client signature/execution

  • Apply technical and competitive insights specific to the Data & AI space to optimize sales opportunities.

  • Understand common Data & AI solutions for leading cloud technologies and competitive offerings including, but not limited to, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform

  • Understand how solutions may apply techniques such as hypothesis testing, segmentation, predictive modeling, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, text mining etc as appropriate

  • Demonstrate solid understanding of and ability to convey concepts in data science including tools, features, functions and benefits of distinct approaches and how to apply them

  • Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will assure customers of successful business outcomes from their technology investments

  • perform/execute client-facing meetings, RFP oral presentations, quarterly business reviews at client sites, and conduct hands-on solution / Cloud Platform demonstrations

  • apply and continuously develop comprehensive knowledge of Kyndryl's Applications, Data & AI go-to-market strategy

  • devise/write the technical elements of RFP responses, contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs) with respect to the applicable technical scope, integration points, and architectural ramifications

  • Develop and maintain client relationships as trusted advisor and thought leader

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with business, channel and alliance partners

  • Achieve and maintain appropriate technical certifications in leading cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform

Required client-related sales travel up to 25-50% (post COVID-19) -- during COVID-19 pandemic, execute meetings effectively from home via Webex

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the total compensation range $200,000 to $300,000 is inclusive of base salary and commission earnings. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience, and your sales results. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the IT industry

  • Minimum 3 years of Sales Engineering / solution design experience with an emphasis on Data & AI, leading client-facing meetings, performing technical aspects of RFP oral presentations, participating as a Data & AI thought leader in quarterly business reviews at client sites

  • Experience leading in collecting, validating, vetting with customer the deal-specific technical, functional, and nonfunctional requirements

  • Experience architecting/engineering effective Data & AI technical solutions

  • Experience developing technical solution proposals, including cost estimates, draft deployment timelines, technical/operational dependencies, draft architectures

  • Strong understanding of the public cloud platform competitive landscape, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform and the Data & AI services and capabilities of each

  • Experience in conducting hands-on technology demonstrations, solution demonstrations, and/or feature-function walk-throughs with customers in a live in person and/or virtual setting

  • Existing technical certification(s) in one or more of the following: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, with an emphasis on Data & AI

Strong understanding of:

  • Application modernization concepts

  • Analytics, data warehousing, data lakes, data fabrics, data management

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for large scale production environments and/or citizen data scientists

  • Automation techniques, tools, products and the role of automation in driving effective modern IT operations containers, container orchestration and related concepts cloud-native DevOps tools resiliency and data security approaches in public cloud / hybrid cloud operating environments

Fundamental understanding of:

  • Networking, to include internet and IP concepts, VPN, VPC

  • Storage alternatives and optimization for application workloads

  • Security approaches for cloud and networked workloads

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in mathematics, information systems, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines
