Job Title: Wed Engineer

Location : Lexington, MA

Duration: 36 Months and 40 hours per week

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a Security Clearance for access to classified information. An Active Secret Clearance is desired.


Our client’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Systems group, develops numerous software platforms to meet the needs of various sponsors. To build these systems, we require a variety of software development skills. For this SOW, we are seeking a software engineer to assist mainly with front-end Web app development, but GIS and back-end skills are valued as well.

Position Scope/Job Functions

-- Domains: Software/application design, development, and debugging; web interface; web services; GIS

-- Design, develop, and support technical programs utilizing modern software engineering techniques, programming tools, and support processes

-- Participate in defining, describing, and implementing program deliverables/functionalities

-- Evaluate and propose use of open source and commercial software, frameworks, and tools where applicable.

Skills: Required

Required software development skills include:

-- Substantial fluency in JavaScript

-- Front-end web development using a framework such as ExtJS, React, Vue, or Angular

-- Back-end web service development

-- Developing, debugging, and executing software in Windows and Linux environments

Skills: Preferred

-- Familiarity with Web Components and relevant frameworks and libraries

-- Familiarity with GIS components such as Open Street Maps (front-end) and GeoServer (back-end)

-- Experience with TypeScript

-- Experience with Java

-- Experience with building, modifying, and debugging web services

-- Experience with software configuration management

-- Experience with agile development processes

Education/Professional Certifications

Software Programmer III: BS plus 1 year minimum experience, Associates Degree plus 2 years minimum experience, or Technical School Certificate plus 3 years minimum experience
