Required to perform the following general labor duties including but not limited to: Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, electricians and HVAC mechanics, etc. Load, unload, identify and distribute various construction and building material, digging, lifting and carrying heavy loads, moving furniture to include minor assembly and disassembly, moving pallets of material as well as heavy sensitive and critical equipment. Loading and unloading trucks, use of hand tools and occasionally the use of special tools will be required. Will open crates, install posts and pre-drilled signs, remove and reattach doors with pins, perform any and all ground and landscape work as assigned, road repairs and minor masonry tasks. Cleaning and preparing construction sites to eliminate any hazards prior to, during and after work is completed. May perform all custodial duties to include including cleaning fluids resulting from spills, leaks or floods. Shovel snow and other snow removal duties on a mandatory basis as a supplement to the utility work force. Paint sign posts, rails, light posts, equipment, snow stakes, outdoor furniture and the outside of buildings. Work will include performing all minor vehicle maintenance such as cleaning, topping off fluids, replacing light bulbs and wind shield wipers. Will provide 24-hour emergency response as necessary to support snow removal operations and any other facility related emergencies.

High School graduate or equivalent and, required to have at least one (1) year of applicable experience are required. The applicant must work as a team member, and work with minimal supervision. Physical ability to lift and handle heavy construction materials, supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs on a daily basis is required. Individual must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions as well as climb ladders, stairs and staging. Valid driver's license required. Participation in snow removal is a condition of employment and must obtain (within 15 months) and maintain a License to operate hoisting machinery (520 CMR 620) MA Hoisting License 2A-1C desired (Bob Cats, Forklifts, loaders). CDL desired. Construction laborer experience and the able to identify various construction materials are highly desired.

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
