Description
Position Summary: LinQuest is seeking a Systems Engineer with software experience to join our team in Lexington, MA. You will join an Advanced LaserComm Systems and Operations team that develops, builds and operatesprototype space and airborneLaserComm terminals. The technology and the lessons learned from these activities are transferred to operational program through participation in standards groups and through the operation of gold standard test infrastructure.
Key Skills and Responsibilities: You will contribute to testbed control system development and prototype testing including initial test planning. Team members work with inter-disciplinary teams to field advanced electro-optical system prototypes and test with externally developed systems. Prototype systems span technologies including software applications, relational databases, embedded software, FPGAs, custom and COTS electronics assemblies, and optical communication technologies in addition to both custom and cots mechanical assemblies. Testbeds may include the use of laser sources, various optical test equipment, power meters, and cameras. This role includes testbed development, test data analysis, tool development, along with some test planning and implementation, test reporting, and documentation.
Required Skills:
BS in Electrical Engineer/Computer Science or related.
10 years of relevant experience
MATLAB
Python Programming and Scripting
C/C++ Programming
Interfacing with hardware
Experience with Version Control (SVN, CVS or Git)
Experience developing in a Unix environment.
Good communication skills: willingness to listen to the needs of engineers and the ability to articulate solutions to engineers in other disciplines who possess little understanding of control software.
Eager to learn new tools to support the testing needs
Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
Eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master's degree in electrical engineering or computer science or related
15 years of relevant experience
Experience in data bases and XML
Experience using issue tracking tools and automation tools
Active Secret Clearance
