Fresenius Medical Center Enterprise Systems Engineer in Lexington, Massachusetts

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Support and develop processes and systems for quick and thorough responses to customers. Provide systems configuration recommendations to deliver solutions to technical problems. Assists in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions. Technical emphasis is on hardware capabilities, software requirements and systems integration.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Production implementation – identify and resolve errors, ensure ongoing stability of the environment.

  • Establish end user access policy and permissions and delegate permissions authority to applicable users.

  • Participate in the installation, maintenance and performance tuning of the infrastructure which may include reviewing system logs and generating system performance reports.

  • Manage and maintain the backup and restore processing for systems which includes verifying that all system backups are successful and system restore processes are periodically tested.

  • Review systems logs and messages on a daily basis and either takes actions or can consult with senior level personnel before taking any necessary actions.

  • Responsible for User Security access administration of systems.

  • Responsible for monitoring of the Remedy tickets and resolution of issues to ensure closure of the tickets by self or with the help of other team members.

  • Participates in the evaluation of the system software and hardware by researching vendor options according to selection criteria.

  • May provide assistance to junior level staff with general tasks that require a better understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.

  • May refer to senior level staff for assistance with higher level problems that may arise.

  • Escalates issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2 – 5 years’ related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.

  • Requires good documentation skills to meet compliance requirements.

  • Requires a good overall understanding of monitoring and backup/recovery technologies.

  • Demonstrated Experience in Capacity Planning, Growth Management.

  • Solid understanding of Clustering, Load Balancing, Backups.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
