Administrative, technical and inspection work related to the enforcement and interpretation of the State Building Code, the local zoning ordinances and other applicable regulations; all other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: In accordance with State Law: At least 5 years of experience in the supervision of building construction or design or in the alternative a two year associate degree in a field related to building construction or design. In addition, such person shall have a general knowledge of the quality and strength of building materials; a general knowledge of the accepted requirements of building construction, fire prevention, light, ventilation and safe exits; and a general knowledge of other equipment and materials essential for safety, comfort and convenience of the occupants of a building or structure. Class D drivers license. Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisors License or Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License Restricted to 1 or 2 family dwellings. Additional Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of the materials and methods of building construction and of state building codes, local zoning bylaws and other applicable statutes, bylaws and ordinances. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database.
