As part of the Advanced Research team in the CTO, key responsibilities will include:
Participating in development activities in one or more technology areas, with specific focus on advanced software programs and algorithms, to help broaden Dell EMC’s intellectual property portfolio, advance our technology leadership, and influence future product roadmaps.
Projects may span multiple technological areas, including but not limited to cloud-native infrastructure, machine learning, advanced data protection techniques, containers, microservices, open source, and other emerging technologies.
Contributing to the creation of technology proof-of-concepts.
Contributing as a team member to technical projects, architecture, research, and implementation of new technologies in a small collaborative startup-like environment.
Developing solutions to software engineering problems requiring frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.
Self-Motivated, Enthusiastic, Energetic and Passionate about technology and working as a part of a team.
Ability and Open Mindedness to quickly learn about new development methodologies and cutting edge technologies (even on new technologies that aren’t yet fully understood or matured)
Basic understanding of system performance and scaling, debugging, diagnosing and troubleshooting software
Basic understanding of programming logic and patterns and the ability to learn new programming languages and patterns quickly.
Basic experience with system administration, process management, deployment technologies.
Experience in DevOps.
Communication skills, written and verbal
Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science 0 - 1 years' experience
Familiarity with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Cloud Foundry
Knowledge of streaming protocols, Rest API development
Knowledge of modern, cloud-based software development tools
Agile software development experience to help facilitate shorter development iterations to create fast feedback loops that enables problem-free code to be quickly deployed.
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
