We are seeking a Lead Architect to oversee the evolution and delivery of and Edge estate management and application orchestration Architecture. This software is a critical component that orchestrates and solves for unique Edge constraints – Zero Trust, Zero IT, Scale, Connectivity, Multi-Cloud, Cost, OEM Readiness and Digital Transformation.

What you’ll achieve

The Dell Technologies Edge Portfolio team is providing end-to-end solutions for our customers and partners. The advances in IoT are driving more complex and capable edge solutions. Providing fully integrated offerings will be a key part of this role.

As a member of the technical staff of our edge architecture team, you will be responsible for developing solution architectures leveraging the latest technologies and Dell products. This specific role will be focused on driving our Edge Management and Orchestration architecture.

You will:

  • Work with Product Management teams to refine the architecture and requirements

  • Work with Solutions Engineering teams to build and validate the architected solutions

  • Work with Engineering Development teams to build out a robust solution

  • Own the Dell aligned Edge management and orchestration Architecture

  • Direct a team of Cross-Dell Architects and Engineers to oversee its technical direction, roadmap, implementation, delivery and quality

  • Responsible for code reviews and resolving technical disputes

Essential Requirements

  • Requires 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years with a Master’s degree; or 8+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience in a system architect capacity

  • Proven ground up design, development, and market delivery experience in Control Plan systems

  • Experience in designing container and micro-services-based application architectures

  • Experience in orchestrating and integrating external compute environments including AWS, Azure, Google, vSphere, and Kubernetes

  • OpenAPI design and development

  • Scalable design patterns and principles, including management scale and designing for low resource environments

  • Security best practices including Secure API development and integration with external Identity and Access Management systems

  • Expert level experience in Python, GoLang or Rust

Desirable Requirements

  • Working knowledge in core Dell Technologies hardware/software offerings and the ability to align/integrate/leverage/influence to meet requirements and delivery timeframes

  • Ability to scale and mentor others

  • Ability to direct a global team of engineers and architects

  • A member of the Dell Technical Leadership Community
