Applied Materials Equipment Technician V in Gloucester, Massachusetts
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsible for maintaining and repairing the Automated Full-wafer Defect Review Scanning Electron Microscope (Applied Materials SEMVisionTM G7) and CDSEM (Applied Materials Verity 6i) equipment to ensure the highest possible performance of the equipment with an uptime of >90%.
Thoroughly document all maintenance and repairs performed in an established logbook and tracking program.
Keep the lead engineer updated on tool related performance and issues.
Secondary responsibility to perform defect characterization using the defect review SEM in support of AMAT’s applications development, tool development, customer demonstration and field escalations. Functional Knowledge
Experience repairing and maintaining complex electro-mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Work closely with engineers to understand their requirements and the customer’s requirements.
- May act as a lead for the team, may coordinate the work of others in their area. May provide subject matter guidance to team members
- Resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions and applying methods, techniques, experience and precedents; exercises judgement within generally defined practices
- Has direct impact through responsibility for the quality of deliverables.
- Demonstrates tact and diplomacy to exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical way.
Minimum 2 years or more of relevant experience troubleshooting/repairing complex electro-mechanical equipment. Prior semiconductor equipment, high vacuum or field service experience desirable.
Minimum 2-year technical degree in electronics, engineering or science or equivalent military training.
Ability to read and interpret both electronic and mechanical schematics
Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to use appropriate hand or power tools
Strong attention to details
Self-motivated with ability to work alone in very dynamic environment, with limited supervision and in a small team
Good communication skills and strong motivation for supporting the customer with a sense of urgency.
Travel – limited. The ability and willingness to travel for training on the maintenance of the defect review SEM and CDSEM.
Ability to work inside cleanroom - sit or stand for prolonged periods with full gowning requirements.
