Regulatory Senior Engineer

Join us as a Regulatory Senior Engineer on our Product Compliance Engineering Team in Hopkinton, Massachusetts or remote to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

As a Regulatory Senior Engineer you will responsible supporting the delivery of certifications that demonstrate Dell EMC’s storage products are safe, compatible in electromagnetic environments and are free of harmful substances. These certifications are necessary for access to many worldwide markets and directly support Dell Technologies revenue targets. You will work with our internal Product Design Team and product development teams from partner suppliers to ensure that Dell EMC storage products are designed to meet current and expected regulatory requirements so they have uninhibited access to global markets at introduction. You will also work with our internal Storage Business Units and other functions to transition products and operations to demonstrate compliance with new and changing regulations and standards in order to ensure continued global market access over our products’ total lifecycle.

You will:

  • Apply existing requirements from regulations and standards to product design specifications.

  • Supervise internal and oversee external EMI/EMC testing activities for engineering and certification testing programs.

  • Manage or oversee the submittals to certification bodies to secure necessary product certifications.

  • Execute projects to transition the Storage Business Units in response to new regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of study.

  • 5+ years of product EMI/EMC experience including collaboration on testing, debugging and troubleshooting.

  • Strong skills in assessing, hypothesizing, and testing to determine problem root causes.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong communicating, influencing and negotiation skills in cross functional environments.

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of IT hardware and protocols, especially storage, servers and networking

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
