Rave Mobile Safety Senior System Engineer in Framingham, United States

Currently due to COVID all Ravers are working remotely.

Once Rave's offices safely re-open, this position can remain remote but will report into the headquarters in MA.

What you'll do:

  • Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing IT applications, software, and operating systems

  • Implement and upgrade automation and tools to enhance the capabilities of the Production IT team in fulfilling business objectives and improving processes

  • Conduct research on software and systems products (both paid and free, both proprietary and open source) to make and justify recommendations for infrastructure architecture

  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems

  • Plan and support server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies

  • Implement tools and processes integrating with third-party platforms in use by our teams

  • Build on our existing automation for our physical, virtual, and cloud systems

  • Participate in our on-call rotation in support of our Production platforms and work with the team to perform off-hours maintenance activities as scheduled

  • Train and support the Production IT team in use of the platforms and solutions you implement and document

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in a production DevOps or System Engineering Role

  • Proven experience with one or more automation systems (managing, maintaining, developing new scripts)

  • Experience with one or more interpreted or fast-compile languages such as Python or Go

  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and networks

  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and production management best practices

  • Ability to work independently or within a true collaborative project

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, speaking to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • AWS Certification, a plus
