Technical Project Manager

What you’ll be doing:

  • Understand business needs, provide leadership and org level updates, all while driving progress with the developer group so that we can continue to #deliverforcustomers.

  • This role will revolve around solving complex business problems with the data science team.

  • You’ll be joining Revenue Management’s internal data science group and assuming the PM role for two projects that are at the top of Staples Inc priorities for 2024.

  • Use technical background/orientation and your project management skills to help drive success on multiple projects in the RevMan organization.

  • With plenty of VP level facetime, you’ll provide updates on project health and KPIs to leadership while taking pride in the larger team’s success!

  • Understand technical concepts/approaches and translate technical nuance into English for stakeholders/leadership.

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate to technical requirements for the dev team (and for project planning and backlog curation).

What you bring to the table:

  • Background or passion for Data Science and the Dev lifecycle.

  • Proven Project Management experience

  • Comfortable holding others accountable, even if they are cross-functional partners.

  • Leadership mentality to everything you do.

  • Elite communication skills and time management skills.

  • Master of Jira and Confluence; and a natural with Project planning/management/tracking

  • Passionate about managing expectations – whether it be stakeholder management or quality control.

  • Not afraid of documentation, live for collaboration, and always put customer first!

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (concentration in analytical/business area such as Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Economics).

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytics/data science/software dev team or organization.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • PMO certification a plus.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, Alteryx a plus.
