As the Sr. Manager E-mail Strategy and Innovation for Staples, you will lead the step-change improvement of the US Retail email program, driving growth in email influenced sales, margin and engagement. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for growing file size and health, expanding the trigger program, increasing personalization efforts, and leveraging emerging technologies innovate and evolve.

Innovation & Change:

  • Drive email program innovations to improve overall email performance (e.g., shift away from bulk promotional sends toward real-time, data-driven, segment-driven messages)

  • Grow emailable file

  • Build strategy and oversee execution of the Staples Connect program including oversight of automated customer journeys

  • Identify other email innovations, prioritize, test, and rollout

Project Management:

  • Manage Retail relationship with ESP and manage associated budget

  • Oversee, test, and improve the email lifecycle process (e.g., confirmed opt-in program, email onboarding program, re-engagement program)

  • Partner with the bulk email team to pilot personalized email programs; integrate and rollout successful programs into the weekly program

  • Partner with the email operations team to personalize the majority of emails

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 8-10 years’ experience with email as a marketing channel, self-serve experience a must

  • Proficiency in technical aspects & tools of email, ecommerce, and database operations

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Strong analytic skills. Able to develop test strategies, articulate key success metrics, and analyze results

  • Able to think analytically at both the short-term campaign and longer-term customer levels

  • Ability to partner with various business units to foster collaboration and drive progress forward

  • Proactive and self-motivated work style with proven ability to manage multiple projects and get things done
