Working with the Solar PV Grid East Region Team, the responsibilities of this position entails originating high quality sites for solar and storage development. Territory will be the East Region of the US (Maine to Florida) with specific states assigned. Working as a team, candidate will be taking direction from the Head of Site Origination to fulfill job duties that may include the following:
Search for sites in specific regions under Ameresco’s strategy;
Support cross-regional sales teams with qualification, presentation, and proposals for Solar PV projects;
Coordinate with the Director or Project Development Manager, the Project Development Engineer, Ameresco Legal, and Ameresco Finance lead to develop and Facilitate renewable project deal structuring (project deal strategy, economics, and contract forms);
Produce preliminary and final economic feasibility reports, including pro forma models and associated pricing with an emphasis on project risk/feasibility in order to pre-qualify deals;
Develop customer feasibility/avoided cost reports as required, research and submit local incentive and utility rebate applications, as well as assist in the development and coordination of technical RFP/RFQ proposals;
Work with the Director or Project Development Manager, and Development Engineers to assemble Ameresco RFP/RFQ proposals including, pre-bid job walk coordination, technical writing, project scope and pricing, interview presentations, and coordination of all other necessary input for a comprehensive proposal;
Target and contact key decision makers to present new project opportunities, propose specific sales contracts, obtain fully executed contracts for new projects, and achieve business development goals;
Assist the Director or Project Development Manager and Ameresco Legal to negotiate and structure Solar PV and Solar Integrated contract deals;
In coordination with the Director or Project Development Manager, work directly with customer representatives throughout the project development process to resolve issues and maintain the project schedule;
Learn, utilize, and strengthen the sales system platform and maintain sales status CRM updates for select projects;
Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions;
Develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project proposals and contract terms;
Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of Ameresco Solar PV Grid-Tie product and service offerings as well as market, renewable, and energy services developments;
Seek internal technical guidance and coordinate the implementation and operations support interface to assure customer satisfaction;
Strengthen knowledge of solar and photovoltaic systems industry, structure, trends, issues to ensure full understanding of customer business objectives and requirements;
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes;
Cultivate positive and effective business relationships; and
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years proven business development experience cultivating, developing, and securing Solar PV Grid-Tie installation projects for commercial and industrial customers.
Experience with Solar PV sales track record, including executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience a plus.
Proven ability to analyze and quantify customer value (LEED status, sustainability and renewable energy goals) and customer electricity cost savings.
Financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities.
Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
Understanding utility infrastructure a plus.
Knowledge of solar and storage technologies a plus.
Must be detail-oriented
Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
