We have an opening for and experienced Software Engineer on our video products team. We seek highly skilled Engineers who love solving complex problems; enjoy building reliable software that integrates with real-world things like doors, readers, sensors, and cameras; and who have an interest in learning and leveraging new technologies.
Strong C++ 11/14 knowledge, including modern usage of templates, collections, smart pointers, concurrency, and modern c++ libraries.
Experience and deep understanding of digital video. Candidate should have strong knowledge of transport protocols such as RTSP/RTCP/RTP and WebRTC; and working knowledge of video codecs and formats sufficient to debug problems from network traces. Candidate should have experience using ffmpeg and/or gstreamer libraries (or similar), as well as command-line usage.
A solid foundation in Linux. Candidate will not need to implement drivers or kernel modules but will need to have a good understanding of and experience with standard Linux debugging and monitoring tools, and must be comfortable writing and building code with tools on Linux platforms.
Strong Object-oriented design & programming skills. Candidate will be expected to have experience and skill in designing modular, concurrent software in response to high level architectural guidance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to work in an Agile Team environment.
Experience with and commitment to standard quality processes including version control, design/code reviews, defect tracking, and automated testing
Minimum of a BSCS or equivalent.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
Experience with analytics and machine vision.
Experience with Intel Media SDK.
Experience with Physical security.
Understanding of a variety of network protocols, and experience in the use of protocol analyzers like Wireshark.
Experience implementing software to interface with external systems, such as sensors and audio/video devices via REST and/or native APIs.
Self-motivated and a proven ability to work well in a team environment
Able to learn quickly and willing to share knowledge
Flexible, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Design, develop, code, test, document, and support our software
Participate in design reviews as well as reviewing QA test plans
Work with Technical Support to help resolve Customer Issues
