Summary

The Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting both Staples Business Advantage (B2B) and Staples Retail Public Relations and Social Media programs. This role will ensure that the company’s vision is articulated on all external facing media channels, both traditional and non-traditional, while offering innovative and creative ideas to boost brand awareness.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support theday-to-day PR/media relations function:

  • Act as initialpoint of contact for incoming media requests

  • Coordinate interviews,media events and spokesperson trainings

  • Draft talkingpoints, company fact sheets and spokesperson bios

  • Develop and maintainexternal media-facing materials

  • Lead monthlyreporting and media monitoring process

  • Write updates forinternal company newsletters

  • Assist PRManagers with seasonal projects as needed

  • Support theday-to-day Social Media function:

  • Create and publishorganic social media content for Staples platforms

  • Develop andimplement social media engagement plan for Staples employees

  • Partner with theContent team to ensure new materials are posted to social channels

  • Partner with HRto ensure relevant content is posted to Staples LinkedIn page

  • Leverage sociallistening tool for competitive analysis and communicate insights to internalstakeholders

  • Submit creative briefsfor weekly ads and relevant holiday promotions

  • Assist SocialMedia Managers with seasonal projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Projectmanagement experience

  • 0-2years of experience in implementing PR and social media campaigns thatsupport product launches, seasonal messages, brand transformation andoverall brand awareness

  • Backgroundin consumer and/or B2B PR

  • Experiencebuilding campaigns that engage social media communities

  • Abilityto aid in design and continuously evolve a PR and social media strategythat grows Staples brand reputation, engagement, reach, audience and, as aresult, conversion

  • Demonstratedability to collaborate with other business partners across the organization

  • Strategicand creative thinker

  • Strongwritten and verbal communications skills

  • Retail experience a plusbut not required
