Position Overview: Principal Scientist, Cell Engineering, Genomic Medicine Unit
We are seeking a Principal Scientist to be part of a team delivering cell engineering platforms for treatment of human disease. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the Genomic Medicine group in developing and implementing strategies of cellular genome editing as an approach for treatment of immunological, inflammatory and oncological diseases.
Identify, implement and execute novel strategies for ex-vivo genome engineering of immune cell populations
Transversally collaborate across the company to build out the cell engineering portfolio
Creatively develop next-generation genome editing and gene therapy tools to strongly position Sanofi as a leader in the ex vivo gene therapy space•
Responsible for applying scientific expertise and judgement to initiate, design, direct and execute experiments and/or studies in support of research and/or development project goals in a time sensitive manner.
Act as an impactful contributor and leader of project teams and transverse initiatives.
Foster creativity, productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, teamwork, accountability, cross-functional collaboration, and employee growth and development.
Develop and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
PhD plus minimum 5 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting
Prior experience involving genome editing applications required
Genome editing and/or gene therapy experience with ex vivo immune cell populations (such as T- and NK-cells) preferred
Knowledgeable and skilled in designing and conducting ex-vivo cell-based assays.
Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications supporting their research programs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
Experienced, results-oriented leader of other scientists, with a track record of directing research projects in cross-functional teams.
Flexibility to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines and ability to lead others through change in a dynamic, fast paced industry and work environment.
Experience in preparing high quality documents including technical reports, presentations, SOPs, experimental protocols and regulatory filings.
