Sanofi Group Large Molecule Research Project Head in Framingham, Massachusetts
Sanofi tirelessly continues its path towards becoming a world-class biologics organization and it is expanding the capabilities in this area. The Large Molecules Research Platform (LMRP) organization consists of five sites, and approximately 550 personnel focused on antibodies, nanobodies and synthorins as therapeutic modalities. Our platform enables and partners closely with other research platforms and Sanofi’s therapeutic areas (Immunology, Oncology, Rare Disease and Neurology) in the discovery and ultimate delivery of new candidate molecules into our pipeline.
To continue to build on our success in these efforts we are seeking an individual with experience in drug discovery and development to oversee LMR activities in support of the progression of biologic therapeutic projects. The LMR Project Head leads the LMR research activities of a drug discovery project from initiation up to the entry into development. She/he would lead the LMR interdisciplinary team for a flawless execution of the agreed strategy, serve as a member of the Core Team and represent LMR in the extended research project team. The LMR Project Head would lead multiple projects simultaneously and will report to the Head of US LMR.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a group of accomplished scientists focused on the design and realization of advanced therapeutic modalities, including multi-specific antibodies such as those that have recently entered the clinic (see: DOI: 10.1126/science.aan8630 and DOI: 10.1038/s43018-019-0004-z).
Define and drive the execution of the operational plan across LMR functions in terms of strategy, timeline, resources and quality.
Build the operational plan, coordinate and track all project activities in order to allow optimal progress and decision making (e.g. manage budgets for outsourcing LMR related activities, meetings, timelines, reports, external contacts etc.).
Lead and motivate the LMR project team to be high performers and ensure execution of functional plans along agreed timelines, monitor sub-teams to drive execution of plans against strategy.
Identify and request resources required for the project; ensure resources are assigned and aligned within global LMR.
Be responsible for quality and accuracy of project data as well as reporting to LMR leadership, therapeutic area heads and working group, and the Research Project Team.
Be responsible for timely completion of required project and portfolio tools and reports; track and document project progress.
Assist IP in defining the patent strategy and drafting patent applications.
Assist in the preparation of the project budget and resource forecast.
